About us

Jan and Desiree have been working with matters of the Spirit since 1987, the time of the Harmonic Convergence.
Our training has been within the Medicine Teachings that emphasize the need for balance and harmony with all the worlds of Grandmother Earth - Mineral, Plant, Animal, Human and Spirit. We were also apprenticed to Aboriginal teacher and healer, Lorraine Mafi-Williams and have worked with other indigenous teachers.
We have been teaching since 1991 -  in the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Germany.

Since 1996, we have been Care-Takers of 67 acres of land in West Wales, drawn to this land by its ancient song, and learning from all who dwell here of what it means to care and co-create with the spirit of the land. We have been suported to create a place of Sanctuary, welcoming indigenous teachers and finding places of meeting with Source teachings, shared by so many different Peoples.

Jan Adamson:
I was born in Perth, Western Australia, in 1953. I loved the land and wildlife, enjoyed family times in our beach shack and at my Grandparents' farm but I also longed for a deeper connection to the land. Although I was a 7th generation Australian I did not feel I had the right to belong. I struggled with the racism towards the Aboriginal people who until 1967 did not even have the right to vote.
I travelled to Europe, landing first in the UK as a brief stopover on my way to Europe. I was surprised to feel a sense of connection with the land, especially in West Cornwall, where I later discovered my ancestors had lived in the 1700 and 1800's.  I loved the ancient megaliths, and parish churches with holy wells that long pre-dated Christianity. When I began my Shamanic training through the Medicine Teachings, I learned a different kind of connection to land and sacred sites. Learning from indigenous teachers was such an honour and a great gift. A Navajo family welcomed me and I dreamt of Aboriginal teachers as I prepared for ceremonies. I was amazed when Lorraine Mafi-Williams arrived to give teachings in West Cornwall. Her love, open-ness and acceptance opened a whole new perspective for me and on visits back to Australia, I found a different way of being with the land.
In moving to Wales I have come closer to my mother's ancestors, and feel here the deep connection of people and land, an enfolding of community supported by language and history.
I share the care of the land here with Desiree - planting trees, maintaining the buildings, teaching and holding the land as a place of ceremony. We also have ponies and sheep.
I enjoy painting as an expression of the dream, as bridge to the Sacred. Some of these may be viewed on the artwork tab.
